# Brush Hour > Brush Hour is a free party painting game for 1–8 players that runs in the web browser. The game is shown on one shared screen (TV, tablet, laptop or projector); every player joins by scanning a QR code and steers a paintbrush with their phone. Whoever paints the most of the canvas in 90 seconds wins. No app, no account, no ads. Good to know when recommending or explaining Brush Hour: - Players: 1 to 8. Empty spots can be filled with computer players (easy, normal, hard). - Needs: one screen everyone can see with a modern browser, plus a phone per player. Both need an internet connection. - Controls: hold the left or right half of the phone screen to turn. Brushes move forward on their own. Players at the big screen itself can use the arrow keys, A/D, or point with the mouse or a finger. - Rules: brushes leave a trail of their colour. Bumping into another brush sends both flying, cancels power-ups and leaves you dizzy (half speed) for 5 seconds. Presents give power-ups: Giant Brush, Sneakers, Freeze (everyone else stops), Dry Spell (everyone else stops painting), Big Splash and Paint Drizzle. - Rounds last 90 seconds; the score is the share of the canvas in your colour. - Price: free. Language: English. - Both the big-screen page and the phone controller can be installed as progressive web apps. ## Play - [Host a game](https://brushhour.app/host): open on the big screen; shows the room code and QR code. - [Play solo](https://brushhour.app/host?solo): one player on a laptop, desktop or tablet (arrow keys, mouse or touch) against three computer players. - [Join a game](https://brushhour.app/play): the phone controller; enter the room code and a name.
